Wings Of Desire have released a new single, ‘A Few More Years,’ before their upcoming UK tour which starts tomorrow. The single is available for pre-order now as a white label 7″, featuring a remix by Ghost Culture (known for work with Daniel Avery and Kelly Lee Owens) on the B-side.
‘A Few More Years’ showcases the duo’s refined trademark sound, a captivating blend of gritty dream-pop and electronic textures influenced by Krautrock. The verses feature James Taylor’s unique poetic talk-singing style, evoking a nostalgic tribute to youthful glory. This is beautifully contrasted with Chloe Little’s ethereal harmonies in the chorus, which provide a poignant look towards the future, balancing a sense of hopeful anticipation with a touch of wistful reflection.
Of the track, James Taylor states,
A few more years is a sober reflection on the heady days of youth. As we live through a world in flux let’s hark back to a time before algorithms and the financialization of social life. Windows down, Benson & Hedges lit. Watching the sun come up with dread as others march to their daily commute. A note on a past period of personal crisis, and a message to my younger self. Hold on for a few more years as things do get better with time. Everything looks beautiful from here.
This standalone single marks the start of a new chapter for the duo, with a new full-length project planned for release in 2025.
