Dream-pop duo Wings of Desire, consisting of married creative partners Chloe Little and James Taylor, have announced details of their upcoming album, Stand Still Like The Hummingbird, alongside the release of their hypnotic new single, “The Way You Feel”. The track is the latest instalment in the duo’s ambitious 2026 creative project, which sees them releasing a new single on every new moon of the lunar cycle. This lunar journey will culminate on December 9th, the final new moon of the year, with the release of the full album. To support the project, Wings of Desire will embark on a headline UK tour this December.
“The Way You Feel” leans heavily into the band’s krautrock influences, propelled by driving motorik percussion, sweeping synth washes, and the duo’s signature vocal harmonies. Both the track and its accompanying video draw heavily from traditional mysticism. Shot during West Country Beltane celebrations, the video features Boss Morris—the progressive, all-female morris dancing collective famously known for performing with Wet Leg at the 2023 BRIT Awards.
The duo explains the track’s mantra,
Give all your worries to the mystic fire. The fire that burns and purifies. Some emotions are necessary, but a lot of them do not serve us. You don’t have to feel this way.
Serving as a natural thematic continuation of their 2023 debut Life is Infinite, the new album explores staying grounded within an increasingly accelerated and chaotic digital culture. The records’ conceptual focus on the natural cycles of birth, life, and creation became deeply literal for the couple during the recording process. Midway through the project, Little and Taylor welcomed their first child into the world, a milestone that reshaped the album’s abstract ideas, most notably on the track “Interlude,” which features their child’s heartbeat recorded in the womb.
