Alphabet – Sense

Alphabet’s brand new single Sense sears with shoegaze sensibilities and sits right at the top of their already impressive run of singles. The London quartet have built a solid reputation for scintillating live shows, and this soaring big rock energy tune encapsulates what the band are all about. Speaking on the track, vocalist Milo McNulty says: “Lyrically, the song explores the shifting nature of emotions. The quiet battle with my inner monologue and the journey toward finding balance and peace among the chaos.” – Kai Marshall

Cusk – Doom Banjo

Cusk continue their descent into magnificent, atmospheric gloom with “Dooms Banjo,” the captivating second single from their upcoming debut EP. Born out of East London’s underground improv circuit, the track showcases an undeniable creative chemistry between Esmé Creed-Miles and Evie Hilyer-Ziegler. It is part poetry, part art-rock banger, brilliantly weaving together folky string arrangements and a haunting banjo figure with powerful, heavy drums. The result is a brooding, slow-burn track that seamlessly balances delicate emotional vulnerability with a soaring, time-transcending intensity. – Katie Macbeth

Gurries – Party Lines

Gurriers are back with a riled-up dance-punk single that’s sure to make you move with whatever fun that’s still left in the world. This new single feels a bit more pent-up and ready to ignite as feedback hisses throughout “Party Lines” and exemplifies the feeling of powerlessness as we watch ones hungry with political power blindly exploit it. Frayed guitars strike forth with aggression and beckon for rage by the end of the track with hard-hitting lyrics aimed to bash the heads of the elite. This is a thrilling new take and a bigger and bolder sound for their new album out later this year! – Evan Lurie

Mary in the Junkyard – Blood

Serving as the vital final preview of their phenomenal debut album Role Model Hermit, “Blood” highlights London art-rockers mary in the junkyard at their absolute sharpest. The track is anchored by a lean, spider-like guitar riff from Clari Freeman-Taylor, backed by an artful, punchy rhythmic counterpoint from David Addison and Saya Barbaglia. Capturing the raw, overwhelming experience of newfound love, Freeman-Taylor’s intimate vocals carry an emotional urgency that feels captured entirely in the moment. – Lauren Moreton

Antony Szmierek – Seminal

“Seminal” wears its heart on its sleeve as the new single from Antony Szmierek proves the indie pop sensation has no signs of slowing down. A lively music video and a feature from Los Bitchos’ Serra Patale makes it all the more meaningful as the song bops and bows through dance beats and spoken word prowess. The acclaimed lyricist has an anthem for the afterparty here, you’ll surely be caught in its undertow well before the chorus hits. – Evan Lurie
