Cusk Announce Debut EP and Share Emotive New Single ‘Doom’s Banjo’

London alt-rock duo Cusk have officially announced their self-titled debut EP, scheduled to arrive on August 14th via independent tastemaker label The Bird Records. To celebrate the announcement, the band has shared their highly anticipated second single, “Doom’s Banjo.” The emotive, direct, and captivating track serves as the follow-up to their widely acclaimed debut single “Blu Tac Piano,” which earned international press attention earlier this year and firmly established the group as an exciting new talent to watch.

Fronted by close friends and creative partners Esmé Creed-Miles and Evie Hilyer-Ziegler, Cusk originally formed after crossing paths at an improvisation night. Bound by a shared instinct for exploratory, raw, and emotionally direct songwriting, the pair have quickly become a staple of the capital’s underground circuit since their live debut at Brixton’s iconic Windmill venue. In that short time, they have amassed an enviable live resume, sharing stages in support of heavyweight alt-rock and experimental acts like DIIV, Geordie Greep, and Tiberius B.

In tandem with the new music, Cusk have detailed their first-ever headline performance, set for August 27th at The Shacklewell Arms in East London, the very venue where the duo first met. The landmark show will feature an expanded full-band lineup to bring the EP’s rich studio arrangements to life. Notably, the upcoming release marks the second-ever extended play from The Bird Records, the budding label founded and curated by Charlie Wayne of Black Country, New Road and industry veteran Mita De. Tickets for the release show are on sale now, alongside EP pre-orders.
