New wave Glasgow band, The Ninth Wave have today returned with their latest single, Maybe You Didn’t Know, a further glimpse into what is to come from their next full-length release. Listen below.
Maybe You Didn’t Know is an alluring mixture of electronica, combined with emotive-pop and stunning artwork to create something unique – yet distinctively The Ninth Wave, potentially standing strong as the bands strongest release to date. Opening with intense percussion that blends into subtle keys to reveal Haydn Park-Patterson’s vocals before a spiralling chorus.
Speaking about the track, Haydn Park-Patterson states:
The song is about finding comfort in the uncomfortable and being able to hide yourself behind an overbearing and engulfing undefined fear.
Lyrically, The Ninth Wave’s new material sees them defy all expectations. Celebrating honesty and real life, The Ninth Wave are wanting listeners to find comfort in their music, allowing them to realise that they’re not alone with their anxieties. With a wealth of material under their belts, all eyes should remain fixed on The Ninth Wave, who are ready to release their sophomore album, the follow-up to 2019’s Infancy, in 2022.
