Swimming Girls formed whilst they were all studying separately in Bath as part of a ‘musical project’ – put together entirely randomly and asked to “write a song”. The group quickly found common ground in 70s and 80s pop culture, drawing inspiration from the likes of The Cure, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club alongside cult films like ‘Heathers’ and the work of David Lynch.
2018 has already seen the band open for Manchester pop darlings Pale Waves at the Lexington in London. Swimming Girls have confirmed that their next live show will be at the Lock Tavern Festival in Camden on March 31st with more dates to be announced shortly.
Back Of Your Car is available digitally as of now via Yucatan Records.
