Xiu Xiu release their new single, Rumpus Room featuring Angus Andrew of Liars. The track is the latest single from the duets’ new album, OH NO, which is set for release on the 26th March via Polyvinyl. Listen below.

Rumpus Room features boisterous bursts of noise, which contrast with suspenseful moments of eerie build up. It opens with a disruptive bassline and distorted vocals which morph into a rowdy chorus, where the walls of noise try to outdo eachother.

The accompanying music video is a surreal number, picking up from where previous single Bottle of Rum left off. It features Angela Seo, clothed in cheerleader attire, parading around her living room eating Hot Cheetos and Takis as she flaunts her boxing gloves and Crocs.

According to Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Steward, OH NO was built from betrayal but now exists thanks to a “rediscovery of community and friendship”. The album features collaborations with a wide scope of artists, including Sharon Van Etten and Chelsea Wolfe alongside members of Drab Majesty, Shearwater and many more.
