Happy Family is the latest (and likely final) track to be revealed from Sundara Karma’s debut album You Is Ever Only Fun In Retrospect (out January 6th) on Chess Club Records (Wolf Alice, Swim Deep).

Happy Family probably is their most elaborate track yet. Within it’s six minutes runtime, the track starts out as a ballad before it builds up to a big crescendo with americana rhythms.

Vocalist and songwriter Oscar (Lulu) Pollock remarks on Happy Family:

When writing I tend not to have any clue where the song is going, it’s only once the song’s been written that I find the meaning or sense in it. Unwittingly it turned out to be the saddest song on the record.

To celebrate the album’s release, Sundara Karma will embark on a UK tour in January/February, including a string of support shows for Two Door Cinema Club.
