Minneapolis-based band She’s Green are set to release their new EP, Chrysalis, on August 15, 2025, through Photo Finish Records, marking their first project in over two years. The announcement arrives with the new single, “Willow,” which offers a glimpse into the band’s ethereal soundscape and their reflections on humanity’s fading connection with the natural world.
Of the track, the band explain,
“‘Willow’ reflects on our dying relationship with the natural world—a relationship that’s not always loving, but formative nonetheless, it’s an energetic song that we love playing live.”
The accompanying music video for “Willow” features bandleader Zofia Smith exploring a forest, bathed in sunlight. This visual juxtaposition of light and her wistful vocals conveys both a sense of longing and underlying hope for the future. As the video concludes, the blurring visuals mirror the song’s themes of uncertainty and melancholy.
“Willow” follows recent singles “Figurines” and “Graze,” which were She’s Green’s first releases since their acclaimed 2023 debut EP, Wisteria. That EP garnered significant online attention, particularly on Reddit, with tracks like “Mandy” and “Syndulla” quickly becoming fan favourites due to their otherworldly sound, thoughtful production, and emotionally charged lyrics.
She’s Green has maintained a busy schedule in 2025. This year saw them open for Frank Black at The Current’s 20th-anniversary show and tour with Glixen and Suzy Clue. They also made their debut at San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival and Seattle’s Freakout Weekender, followed by a tour supporting Softcult. Looking ahead to the fall, the band will join Slow Pulp, Blondshell, and Softcult on tour across both the U.S. and UK.
