Having recently announced their debut album Open Up Your Head for release on August 14th, Sea Girls have just dropped the accompanying video to their latest single Do You Really Wanna Know?

A surreal and truly trippy journey into the four-piece’s isolation mindset, director Francesca de Bassa has created a kaleidoscopic, animated collage which blurs that fine line between reality and fantasy. Hat’s off to anyone trying to produce a promotional music video during these times, but this is an awesomely unsettling visual piece.

As images of the boys faces covered with eyes, dancers with flowers for heads and a suspiciously La Roux-esque leopard swirl across the screen, the upbeat alt-pop of Do You Really Wanna Know provides an extra layer to the fantastical mood.

Both de Bassa and lead singer Henry Camamile have been advocates for mental health awareness in recent months, with the latter speaking candidly about his experiences and how they have shaped the darker side of his songwriting for debut album Open Up Your Head.

Open Up Your Head is set to be released on August 14th via Polydor Records, and accompanied by a set of live dates in the autumn (ticket are available here). If you can’t wait that long however, Sea Girls are using lockdown to engage with fans via social media, including Netflix Parties.

Open Up Your Head is available for pre-save, pre-add and pre-order. Limited edition vinyl and merch bundles can be found in the band’s official webstore.
