After five years of quiet evolution, Icelandic indie-folk icons Of Monsters and Men have broken their creative silence with the release of their new single, “Television Love.” Written and recorded in their studio in Iceland, the song is described as an “ongoing conversation that keeps picking up where it left off,” layered with time, emotion, and the profound honesty that only comes with reflection. The accompanying music video beautifully complements these themes, illustrating the passage of time by following the band through moments that capture change, stillness, and the enduring nature of connection.

Of the track, the band state,

“We’re so excited to share our song “Television Love.” For the past few years, we’ve been tucked away in our studio quietly making music, and it feels really good to finally let people in on what we’ve been up to. At its core, “Television Love” is a conversation between two people stretched across time. The song has been with us for a while and when we were working in our studio we’d visit the song at different moments in our lives. Each time it felt like we had something new to share and add to the song’s story. Life happens, things change, hopelessness turns into hope. The sonic landscape and the conversation became layered with our own history.”

Of Monsters and Men rose from Reykjavík’s indie scene to global superstardom with their 2011 debut, ‘My Head Is An Animal.’ This album propelled them to international fame, with its breakout single “Little Talks” now boasting over a billion Spotify streams. By 2013, they had already made their U.S. television debut on Saturday Night Live, cementing their place in the mainstream.

Their sophomore album, ‘Beneath The Skin’ (2015), debuted in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 and even featured a surprise cameo on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Their distinct cinematic sound has appeared in films like The Hunger Games and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. With electrifying performances at festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza, Of Monsters and Men continue to prove their captivating live presence, remaining digital-era mainstays with 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
