Today, Lambrini Girls share their latest single, ‘Body Of Mine’, as they prepare for a packed summer touring the US with Amyl & The Sniffers, playing at various festivals, hosting their largest headline show to date, and finishing off the year by supporting IDLES at their sold-out London gigs.

While many of our songs are critiques of societal issues, Body of Mine is a little more personal’, continuing, ‘This song is about trying to connect to your gender identity, feeling like you’re not fully yourself, and struggling to figure out how to truly become it. Gender is a complex experience, we acknowledge that this song represents just one perspective among many, of not knowing where you fit inside it all. It’s tough to feel that nobody really gets you and it’s also truly quite shit when you don’t know how to understand yourself either.
Lambrini Girls have quickly climbed the ranks in their scene. From appearing on the cover of Kerrang! alongside Sleater-Kinney to receiving praise from BBC Radio 1 and NME, as well as being nominated for Rolling Stone UK’s Rising Stars Award. Not to mention, the band have also become Iggy Pop’s new favourite band.
Limited to a run of 700, this Friday will witness the release of a purple 7” vinyl, the exclusive release will feature the recent track ‘God’s Country’ along with ‘Body Of Mine’, recorded with Daniel Fox from Gilla Band.
Lambrini Girls are set to deliver their largest headline performance at SCALA in London on 13th June, where CLT DRP and Sulk will support them. The band is also gearing up for their debut in the United States this summer, where they will be supporting Amyl & The Sniffers, alongside their headline tour. Lambrini Girls have been confirmed to perform at various festivals including Wide Awake, 2000 Trees, Reading & Leeds Festivals, Green Man, Manchester Psych Fest, and Glastonbury Festival. Furthermore, they will be joining IDLES for their sold-out Alexandra Palace shows.
The new track follows on from the success of their debut EP, You’re Welcome, and recent single, ‘God’s Country’. The band explains that the track is a call-out to the UK’s shambles of a government:
‘God’s Country is our long, overdue call-out of the government and rise of the far right. We wrote this a few months back when the political landscape had reached a global boiling point. Great Britain. Think colonial, shit-hole, chunk of land. Thriving off unhinged nationalism, fed to us by the right red hand of unelected prime ministers. Despite this, we dare to call our country ‘Great’. So we ask you, ‘Are you sure?’
They continue, ’We could deep dive into inspirations and influences- but the songs about politics, not us. We hope the song speaks for itself. Rishi, Cameron, Cummings, Starmer – you’re all on our shit list.”
Already the two-piece have made a name for themselves with their unforgettable live performances, and fresh from setting the Moth Club quite literally on fire, they have today announced their biggest headline show to date, taking place at SCALA on June 13th.
Next month, the band are set to head to the States for the first time, performing at SXSW, and summer will see Lambrini Girls hit Wide Awake, YNot?, 2000 Trees, Reading and Leeds, and Manchester Psych Fest, and more.
