Minneapolis quintet Hippo Campus today reveal their new standalone single Passenger. The new track follows on from last years Warm Glow EP as well as their critically acclaimed debut album Landmark. Listen to Passenger below.

The new single was once again produced by BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, Francis & The Lights) and shows the band’s musical growth. Singer and guitarist Jake Luppen comments on Passenger:

[It] was written in the winter of 2017 after the first four months of touring on landmark. Lyrically the themes deal with the challenges of growing alongside the person you love. For this song in particular I tried to challenge myself to write a more complex chord progression to sing to. I started off with a TR-8 groove and the rest followed pretty naturally.

Coinciding with the new single’s release, the band have announced a US tour on which they will be supported by The Districts. The band will also appear at this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals and they will also play to consecutive nights at London’s Omeara in August. All dates and ticket links can be found below.

Passenger is available as of today via all digital retailers.
