Great Grandpa announces their new album, Patience, Moonbeam, out March 28th via Run For Cover Records, alongside the single “Junior.” This marks their first release in five years, following Plastic Cough (2017) and Four of Arrows (2019). Patience, Moonbeam builds upon their evolving sound, blending pop-grunge with sprawling indie rock—a prismatic, deeply moving record that reflects the band’s growth.

Previous single, ‘Doom,’ features a soft choir erupting into a powerful clash of cymbals, whereas the lead single ‘Kid,’ carried over from a scrapped album supposed to be released in 2020, unfolds like a rock opera with varied melodies. The newly released country-tinged, ‘Junior’, exemplified the band’s playful spirit with the track featuring a carefree character boasting about “light crimes with my buddies all night”, all set against a lively backdrop of banjo and strings.

Of the album, the band’s Dylan Wainwright states:

We’re all like individual swinging pendulums. Every now and then, we come into sync for a few rotations. Sometimes it’s two of us, sometimes three, and often it’s none of us. But when it does click, it’s truly beautiful.

Patience, Moonbeam, illustrates the choice to reconnect, even after life’s challenges have pulled you apart. As you grow and move in different directions, these experiences often draw you closer together.

In early 2025, Great Grandpa will embark on their first US tour in many years. A full list of dates can be found below and tickets are on sale now.
