Fontaines D.C. have delivered a captivating “Like A Version” performance for triple j, blending Bring Me The Horizon’s “Can You Feel My Heart” with Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box.” During their Australian tour, the band reimagined BMTH’s hit with a synth-heavy, guitarless arrangement, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Frontman Grian Chatten punctuated the cover with a poignant rendition of “Heart-Shaped Box’s” opening.

Conor Curley explained that the band’s choice of BMTH stemmed from its electronic elements, which resonated with their latest album, “Romance,” and its overall moody beauty. He also shared that “Heart-Shaped Box” held personal significance, being one of the first songs he learned on guitar. The Nirvana inclusion neatly became the centrepiece of their performance. They also briefly considered Crocodiles’ “Groove Is In The Heart/California Girls,” but ultimately decided against it.

Fontaines D.C. are set to embark on a series of major outdoor headline shows and festival appearances across Europe and the UK this summer. Notable dates include a sold-out performance at London’s Finsbury Park, as well as shows in Newcastle, Cardiff Castle, and Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park.
