Today, Nottingham 4-piece Divorce have shared their first new music of the year – Gears, produced by Catherine Marks, who has worked with boygenius, Foals, and Wolf Alice. Alongside the single, the band have also announced their biggest UK headline show to date – taking place at London’s Islington Assembly Hall, alongside two special hometown shows at Nottingham’s Bodega.

A restless band by nature, the single speaks of the emotional cost of balancing multiple identities and responsibilities. It begins with a soft, melodic tone before eventually transitioning to become more jittery and intense.

Of the single, vocalist and guitarist Felix Mackenzie-Barrow explains:

Gears was written when I’d just moved to London and was working very long hours whilst trying to keep up with increasing band commitments for Divorce. I was spending all my time working or playing shows and couldn’t maintain any kind of social life or keep up with the spending a social life felt like it would cost. The song came out of those frustrations.

Presale for both Bodega shows, and Islington Assembly Hall, begins at 10am on Wednesday, 13th March. General sale then begins at 10am on Friday, 15th March. Besides their headline shows, they will also support Everything Everything on their respective UK dates. All dates can be found below.
