On May 30th, Australian band CIVIC will release their third album, “Chrome Dipped,” via ATO Records. This new album marks a significant evolution in their sound, moving beyond their signature raw punk rock while retaining their fierce energy.

They’ve just shared the new single, “The Hogg,” which exemplifies this shift. Named for its “disgusting sounding riff,” the track blends the aggression of their early work with new sonic territory. Lyrically, “The Hogg” delves into themes of human consciousness and the role of machines, contrasting its musical intensity with delicate imagery like “sunshine on the ocean floor.”

Of the track, the band states,

The Hogg’ is about finding peace and gratitude in being out of your depth in a foreign place or world.

Fresh off supporting the Sex Pistols in Australia, CIVIC is set for a North American tour, beginning with two sets at Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas (May 24-25). The tour includes stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York City, before the band heads to the UK and Europe this summer, including a performance at 2000 Trees Festival. Tickets are available now.
