A Stone’s Throw Festival returns to North Shields on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with its biggest lineup yet. This third instalment of the festival, set against Newcastle’s stunning coastline, is headlined by post-punk power-houses Shame and features a diverse mix of artists, including Bristol alt-folk singer Katy J Pearson, Australian psych-fuzz favourites Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Newcastle’s own Du Blonde, rockers Man/Woman/Chainsaw, and indie band Swim Deep. The lineup also showcases a wealth of talent from across the North East.
Following successful events in 2022 and 2023, which saw over 100 artists perform in venues ranging from coffee shops to working men’s clubs across Tynemouth and North Shields, A Stone’s Throw 2025 will focus solely on North Shields. Partnering with the council-led NS 800 program, the festival is part of North Shields’ 800th-anniversary celebrations. A free, dedicated bus service, provided by Go North East, will connect the five participating venues: The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank, and The Engine Room.
This year’s lineup includes Shame, Katy J Pearson, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Du Blonde, Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Swim Deep, Brògeal, ERNIE, Home Counties, Keyside, Lizzie Esau, Amelia Coburn, Callinsick, Cortney Dixon, False Heads, Humour, Look Terrified, Make Friends, Pearly Gates, Projector, Samxemma, Scustin, Slate, Sun King, The Manatees, Tigh Collar, White Flowers, and more. The festival promises another unique and memorable music experience.
