Another offering from his self-titled full-length new album, set for release June 2nd via Run For Cover Records, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal has today shared the hazy alt-country number, It’s Getting Dark.
Highlighting Wicca Phase Springs Eternal’s ability to leap between genres, whilst still grasping the listeners’ full attention, It’s Getting Dark is another gem from the enigmatic songwriter, taking a swift turn into country, where previous single Moving Without Movement delved into cinematic synth-pop.
Serving as a portal to Adam MicIlwee’s universe, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal is more than just a self-titled album, offering the musician’s most finely honed and welcoming tracks to date. Bursting with mood and mystery, the album offers both detailed imagery and deep emotion in equal measure. Of the album, MicIlwee states, “I probably say the word ‘mystery’ a hundred times on this record,” he explains. “That’s what I’m trying to bottle up–this idea of something that’s hard to know, but enticing.’
