Fresh off launching their UK tour with packed shows at London’s Brixton Academy and a set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Wet Leg delivers the “palpitation-inducing” new single, “CPR.” This track opens their second album, moisturizer, due July 11th. While the album promises numerous love songs, “CPR” is no typical ballad, with Rhian Teasdale’s refrain, “Is it love, or suicide?” signalling a darker, more complex take. The band locks into a “sleazy beat” as Teasdale wryly details her new romance, before the chorus explodes into signature Wet Leg chaos.
The band-directed video for “CPR” offers a “headbanging, freewheeling, one-take glimpse” into their unique world. Despite a past aversion to writing love songs, Teasdale found the process for moisturizer empowering, resulting in an album that’s unapologetically bolder, stronger, and raunchier.
Alongside “CPR,” Wet Leg has announced UK outstore events, including Kingston’s Pryzm, and a European tour for October. Their extensive 22-stop North American moisTOURizer kicks off September 1st in Seattle, with many dates already sold out. This follows their “frenetic, alluringly combative” lead single, “catch these fists,” recently performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Jonathan Ross Show.
