HOT PINK! is the brand new four-track indie-pop EP by Welsh artist Aderyn, aka Lisa Martin.
Centred on the aftermath of a life-altering breakup, each song explores a different stage of post-relationship grief, moving through the need for reassurance, bitterness, anger and rumination before reaching acceptance.
Following the EP Foreverever, HOT PINK! sees its diaristic songwriting pushed into more experimental territory, incorporating swagger, anger, humour and glitter alongside its emotional themes.
The EP was recorded in West Wales with producer Gethin Pearson, with the songs informing the direction of the production. The recording process saw the project move beyond its established live-band sound, including a lo-fi electronic drum beat and Casio synth on Victorians. The track marked a departure into new sonic territory while retaining the personality of the songwriting.
