Snooper has announced their latest album, Worldwide, which will drop on October 3rd via Third Man Records. Alongside the news, they’ve released the lead single and video, also titled “Worldwide.” Over recent years, Snooper—the brainchild of guitarist Connor Cummins and vocalist/visual artist Blair Tramel—has surged from Nashville’s DIY scene to gain significant acclaim across the international underground music landscape. This rapid evolution exceeded the founders’ initial expectations, bringing both excitement and a sense of disarray. Worldwide directly builds on the raw punk sound that first brought them recognition, yet it clearly captures Snooper’s growth into a more audacious, infectious, and self-assured force.
The title track serves as a potent mission statement for Snooper’s upcoming album, both in theme and aesthetic. It powerfully showcases the band’s foray into dance music, a stylistic exploration that adds new dimensions to their sound. “Push pull/ Side to side/ This way/ That way/ Can’t decide/ Pressure! Pushing in/ Flattened me out from end to end,” sings Blair Tramel, perfectly encapsulating the dizzying experience of the band’s rapid ascent. This track reveals that even as the band felt immense pressure—partially inspired by hydraulic press YouTube videos—these challenges ultimately presented fertile ground for transformation and artistic growth.
After the success of their cherished 2023 debut, Super Snõõper, the band—completed by bassist Happy Haugen, drummer Brad Barteau, and guitarist Conner Sullivan—maintained a chaotic touring schedule. They jetted across Australia, North America, and Europe, squeezing in shows between their day jobs. Driven by a desire for new material and the chance acquisition of a drum machine, Cummins and Tramel seized every available moment to craft fresh songs. While Super Snõõper was a re-recorded compilation of road-tested tracks, Snooper considers Worldwide to be their authentic debut album.
This fall, Snooper will support The Hives on their North American tour.
