Today, Rise Against announces their highly anticipated new album, “Ricochet,” set for release on August 15th via Loma Vista Recordings. This marks the rock band’s first full-length effort in four years, arriving at a critical juncture where societal divisions are increasingly amplified.
Across its twelve tracks, produced by GRAMMY®-winner Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Foals) and mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Paramore), “Ricochet” challenges listeners to consider the forces benefiting from collective anger and to reflect on the consequences of their actions. The album is massive in sound but rooted in themes of unification and positive personal change, as powerfully showcased in the searing lead single, ‘I Want It All,’ which ignites a mission of self-determination.
‘I Want It All’ follows recent singles ‘Nod’—hailed by Rolling Stone as a “potent rallying cry”—and ‘Prizefighter,’ which explores the tension between artistic creation and societal demands. “Ricochet” further delves into the power of community and the irreversible nature of hurt, advocating for unity and challenging the status quo through minority voices. Rise Against—Tim McIlrath, Joe Principe, Zach Blair, and Brandon Barnes—urge listeners to unite and act, not just survive, in what often feels like a constant state of emergency.
Since their 2021 album, Nowhere Generation, the Chicago band has expanded its reach, uniting millions with their outspoken messages and chart-topping hits. Their music, addressing injustice, environmentalism, and social inequality, continues to fill arenas and accumulate billions of streams. This summer, Rise Against returns with a major EU/UK tour and festival headlining run in June, followed by Vans Warped Tour and numerous arena shows across the US.
