Sheffield legends Pulp, fronted by Jarvis Cocker, have announced a UK and Ireland arena tour for June, fueling speculation about new material after signing with Rough Trade Records last year.
The tour kicks off June 7th at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, followed by Dublin’s 3Arena (June 10th), and two nights at London’s O2 Arena (June 13th and 14th). Pulp will also play Birmingham’s Utilita Live (June 19th) and conclude the tour in Manchester at Co-op Live (June 21st). The timing conveniently places the tour’s end a week before Glastonbury, raising hopes for a Worthy Farm appearance.
Cocker hinted at new music, stating,
“You deserve more – & we have more. In fact, we have More – (but that’s a whole other story… you’ll have to wait a little more time to hear that one) In the meantime: see you this Summer!”
Notably, Pulp has confirmed there will be no dynamic pricing for the tour.
The band’s December announcement of signing with Rough Trade, their longtime management, further suggests new music is on the horizon. “Rough Trade have managed Pulp for over 30 years,” they wrote, “So it feels great to be finally on the label. We did it!”
Pulp will also headline and curate a day at Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival in July, featuring local punk icons Femur and neo-psyche legends Spiritualized.
Tickets for all dates go on sale next Friday, with an exclusive pre-sale for Pulp’s mailing list subscribers taking place on Tuesday. Additional venue pre-sales for Pulp’s upcoming tour begin at 9:30 am on February 18th for London, Manchester, and Dublin. Pre-sales for Birmingham and Glasgow venues will start at 9:30 am on February 20th.
