With their “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” tour barely wrapped, Cardiff’s Panic Shack wasted no time, dropping a fresh preview of their upcoming debut album, set for July 18th on Brace Yourself Records. The latest reveal is “Thelma & Louise,” the album’s ride-or-die closer and a powerful tribute to the tight-knit bonds that forged the band.
This track is Panic Shack distilled: their most immediate and infectious sound wrapped in a joyous pop tune. It’s the album’s only “love song,” dedicated to the adoration of best friends, and its themes of liberation and summer road trips arrive just in time for the season.
Of the track, the band state,
Thelma & Louise’ is the first love song we’ve ever written (and will probably be the last). It’s an ode to female friendships and how they’re often more fulfilling than romantic relationships. We were inspired to write this song after watching the feminist masterpiece that is Thelma & Louise. It resonated with us so much because we’re quite frankly obsessed with each other. There are a million songs about love interests and broken hearts and we thought it was about time we championed being in love with your best friends. Roll down the windows, crank up the volume and scream at the top of your lungs.
Following the conclusion of their largely sold-out “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” tour, which culminated in a packed London show at The Garage, Cardiff’s Panic Shack has swiftly announced a series of UK record store appearances. These promotional stops for their highly anticipated debut album include Rough Trade East in London, Resident in Brighton, and a unique double release day event at Cardiff’s Sustainable Studios, featuring a pop-up Panic Shack shop.
The band’s momentum continues into late 2025 with an extensive UK and European tour scheduled from October to December. This run will see Panic Shack headline their largest venues to date, culminating in significant performances at London’s Brixton Electric on December 4th and Cardiff’s Tramshed on December 5th.
