Today, singer-songwriter and guitarist of Wednesday, MJ Lenderman, shares his latest single, arriving in the form of Rudolph. The single arrives partnered with the announcement of Lenderman’s signing to the record label, ANTI-.

The first new music to follow from the release of his 2022 breakthrough album, Boat Songs, which was met with critical acclaim and deemed one of the best records of the year by the likes of Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and NPR Music, Lenderman states of Rudolph:

‘Rudolph’ was the first song I wrote after the release of Boat Songs. I had been sitting on the guitar part for a long time and slowly worked out the song whenever I could in between tours in 2022. I finished the lyrics with my friend one late night after a Wednesday gig in Atlanta.

Next week, Lenderman is to head out on a tour across the United States, bringing his ‘righteously ragged’ live show to stages at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, with other stops including Nashville, Los Angeles, and a show at Woodsist Festival.

Rudolph will be the A-side to a forthcoming 7-inch single from MJ Lenderman, which can be pre-ordered now before its availability this autumn.
