Today, Launder (a.k.a. John Cudlip) has returned with his new single, Intake, the latest offering from his upcoming, debut album, Happening, which is set for release on July 15th via Ghostly.

More uplifting and optimistic than the album’s previous singles, Launder explains of Intake:

‘it carries the rhythm of someone and something new, anticipating all the best and the worst. These themes inspired a faster tempo and ascending chords. I let this track be indulgent in all the best ways and leaned into all of the cleaner guitar sounds and single note guitar interplay, similar to the early Launder songs. For those reasons, this track is a total joy for me and was a lot of fun to rehearse and record.”

Happening arrives as a body of work from a person who is maturing alongside their art, created whilst embracing sobriety, the album allows John Cudlip to redirect once destructive tendencies to become a studio craft. Happening is the sound of a songwriter wishing to push through their own limits with exhilarating, anthemic outcomes.
