Today, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me (iDKHOW), the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Dallon Weekes (one of the founding members of Panic! At The Disco), returns, sharing details of their highly anticipated second album, Gloom Division. Alongside the announcement comes a new single, ‘WHAT LOVE?’, a homage to sexually suggestive R&B that was impossible to miss on the radio in the 90’s.
The single’s release arrives with its captivating video with direction from Raúl Gonzo, iDKHOW’s long-term collaborator. Dallon leads viewers through a captivating journey on a vivid set, reminiscent of a scene from a John Waters film, smoothly transitioning between unique, unconventional characters.
Of the album, Weekes states:
writing has always been an outlet to exorcize your demons or difficult emotions, but with GLOOM DIVISION I made a conscious effort to stop censoring myself when it comes to the subject material, or what I wanted to say.
GLOOM VISION features a diverse range of genres including R&B, post-punk, and art-pop, exploring a wide range of themes, from love and obsession to the satanic panic and neurodivergence. The album was produced by Dave Fridmann and recorded at his Tarbox Road Studios as well as Weekes’ personal basement studio.
