Today, Horse Jumper of Love has unveiled their latest album, Disaster Trick, which is set to be released on August 16th via Run For Cover Records. Alongside the album’s announcement, the band have shared its lead single, titled “Wink,” which showcases the band’s songwriting by presenting stripped-down compositions that are both urgent and accessible, brimming with cathartic emotions. Notably, the track features guest vocals from the talented Karly Hartzman of Wednesday.

Of the track, released today alongside its accompanying music video directed by Britney Reeber, frontman Dimitri Giannopoulos states:

I was inspired by a Russian short story called “Leaves” by Dimitry Bakin. The story is partly about people leaving their home for something better but when they return they are back to the same place they started. The story shed some perspective on my own life and the ebb and flow of pushing forward for something better and going back to your old ways.

The band increases the volume on their latest album, maintaining their signature no-frills intimacy. Giannopoulos’ poignant lyrics and compositions seamlessly transition from soft to powerful, showcasing a dynamic range of emotions. Their music is characterised by quiet, loud, heavy, and gentle elements, driven by raw emotion and classic songwriting.

Hot on the heels of their run of dates supporting Alvvways, Horse Jumper of Love are set to hit the road once more this Summer – supporting DIIV
