Birmingham duo GANS are set to release their debut album, “GOOD FOR THE SOUL,” on September 19th via Peter Doherty’s Strap Originals label. Produced by Ross Orton (known for his work with Arctic Monkeys and Amyl & The Sniffers), their new single ‘IT’S JUST LIFE’ is out now, following the BBC 6 Music playlist-featured track ‘I THINK I LIKE YOU’.

Comprised of Euan Woodman (drums, vocals) and Thomas Rhodes (bass, vocals), GANS creates intense, boundary-pushing music rooted in their working-class Black Country upbringing. Their sound merges raw realism with an escapist vision.

On “GOOD FOR THE SOUL,” the band explores themes of acceptance, self-destruction, and body image, drawing inspiration from their shared passion for painting, literature, and poetry. The new single, ‘IT’S JUST LIFE,’ specifically addresses the futility of self-fulfilment without internal confrontation.

Of the single, drummer and vocalist Euan Woodman expands,

IT’S JUST LIFE is about that feeling we all have – the eternal chase for the grass being greener on the other side. And it isn’t, no matter what we do it always comes back to the same old sh*t of living in our minds and having to deal with it all, no matter where we end up on the planet. That’s just life isn’t it.

GANS has an extensive run of live dates planned for 2025 and 2026. This summer, the duo will perform across the UK and Europe, including appearances at Sonic Bloom Festival, Garage Mu Festival, Metal In The Midlands, and Rock Herk Festival, with a support slot for The Libertines at Piece Hall in Halifax. Looking ahead to 2026, GANS will embark on a significant UK tour throughout February, supporting BIG SPECIAL across multiple major cities, including Norwich, Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, and a final show at The Roundhouse in London.
