Foo Fighters have officially kicked off their 2026 campaign with the release of ‘Your Favorite Toy’, the titular lead single from their upcoming 12th studio album. Dropping ahead of the full record’s April 24th release, the track is described as an insidious earworm featuring jagged guitar shards and a rhythmic pulse that introduces a more sardonic side of Dave Grohl’s vocals. Recorded at home and co-produced with Oliver Roman, the new material marks a sonic departure for the band while maintaining the undeniable energy that has defined their monolithic career.
Of the single, Dave Grohl states,
‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.
The single serves as the roadmap for the 10-track album, which includes last year’s hit ‘Asking For A Friend.’ Its release also heralds the massive Take Cover world tour, set to launch in Norway this June before hitting major US festivals. UK fans have plenty to look forward to, with the band confirmed for two massive stadium shows at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium on June 25th and 27th, 2026.
‘Your Favorite Toy’ is available to pre-order on limited edition vinyl*.
