Eliza McLamb has announced her sophomore album, Good Story, set to release October 24th via Royal Mountain Records. The indie-rock singer-songwriter also shared the lead single, “Like the Boys,” with an accompanying video. This new record aims to cement McLamb as a rising force in rock, blending guitar-driven instrumentals with sharp, observational lyrics.
Of the track, McLamb shares,
‘Like the Boys’ is about being a girl among the boys. I wanted to gain their authority, their audacity. I wanted them to love me like they loved each other. And looking back now, I see how we all played pretend with one another. I also see how play can be violent.”
The announcement of Good Story follows last month’s single “Quitting,” a pulsing guitar track produced by Sarah Tudzin. Both the standalone song and the upcoming album feature contributions from a stacked lineup of musicians, including Jacob Blizard (Lucy Dacus) on guitar, Jason McGerr (Death Cab for Cutie) on drums, and Sarah Goldstone (Chappell Roan, Boygenius) on keys.
