Elias Rønnenfelt, known as the frontman and lyricist of Iceage, is set to unveil his debut solo album titled ‘Heavy Glory’ on October 25th via Escho. He has previously previewed songs such as ‘Like Lovers Do’ and ‘No One Else,’ and now presents an additional track, ‘Worm Grew a Spine,’ characterised by an upbeat drum machine rhythm that echoes the vibrant rock essence found in Blonde on Blonde.

Heavy Glory narrates stories of solitude, indulgence, and resilience amidst turmoil. Co-produced by Rønnenfelt and Nis Bysted, Heavy Glory was recorded in Copenhagen over a year, capturing various chapters and moments. Notable collaborators include Dan Kjær Nielsen from Iceage, the legendary Danish punk figure Peter Peter, and vocalists Fauzia and Joanne Robertson, with whom Rønnenfelt has previously worked on several Dean Blunt projects.

As the pandemic waned and the world found itself in a unique limbo, Heavy Glory began to take form in the spring of 2022. Rønnenfelt, feeling restless and eager to reconnect with his audience, boldly proclaimed to play in any European venue for anyone willing to listen. While on the road, he composed songs overnight and performed them the following day. These songs, at the core of Heavy Glory, were crafted to be adaptable to any setting, born in forests, living rooms, bookstores, and chapels.

Rønnenfelt’s life as an artist and his deep musical expertise culminate in a sound that teeters and sways without losing its essence on Heavy Glory — fragile yet resilient, always pushing forward. It’s a blend of dreaminess and grandeur, bound together by unwavering passion.
