Copenhagen-based singer and producer Debbie Sings has unveiled her final teaser for the month, the euphoric new single “Hotpants.” Arriving today via BIG OIL Recordings, the track is the last look at her upcoming EP, Oh My, which is set to release on February 27th. Trading grand artistic statements for “pure feeling,” the song is a high-octane pop romp defined by dancefloor-ready beats and a heavy dose of Europop melodrama. It follows a string of successful releases that have earned her widespread acclaim.

Debbie explained the spontaneous inspiration behind the track:

“I wore hotpants a lot last summer and on a hot summer’s day the song just came out of the blue – hotpants deserved an ode! It was the last song I made for the EP, and it felt as if I knew how it should sound right away, having worked a lot on the EP’s sound. It was a fun and immediate process.”

The track marks the conclusion of a breakout campaign that has seen Debbie evolve her sound into a sharper, more club-facing direction. Described as the most carefree and self-assured moment on the project, “Hotpants” was a spontaneous addition to the tracklist that solidified the EP’s aesthetic. As she prepares for the full release of Oh My at the end of the month, Debbie Sings continues to prove herself as one of Scandinavia’s most playful and instinctive new producers.
