Musically emerging for the first time since the release of their album ‘Expensive Thrills’ last year, fuzz rockets C Turtle share their latest track ‘2001’, a playfully nostalgic anthem that reminisces on the simplicities of being young.

Initially planned for vocalist Cole Quirke’s old band, but finding itself much more suitable for C Turtle’s direction. Quirke admits,

I can’t really remember what intentions I had with it when I first wrote it…

But later, he clarifies,

When we play it now it reminds me of being a kid; things like getting my first skateboard, Lord of the Rings coming out, watching Cartoon Network and playing out scenes from Dragon Ball Z with my brother.

Joining Quirke in the band is Mimi McVeigh (vocals, guitar), Frank Livesey (bass), Jimmy Jackson(drums) and Mack Kniese (keys/synth), C Turtle have found themselves touring and writing ever since Expensive Thrills released. They’re due to accompany the wonderful shoegaze of julie for a Europe and UK tour in March, as well as a number of festival dates planned too, including a slot at End of the Road Festival later this year.
