Nottingham’s Bloodworm have kicked off 2026 with the release of “Bloodlust,” a shadowy slice of post-punk that introduces the trio as a fully-formed force. Drawing comparisons to the likes of The Cure and Echo & The Bunnymen, the track features propulsive basslines and shimmering guitars paired with a cinematic video directed by Seth Lloyd. Despite only being active for eighteen months, the band has already built a feverish reputation, recently selling out a headline show at The Bodega in their hometown.

Of the new single, the band’s frontman George Curtis says:

‘”‘Bloodlust’ was written about the duality of relationships and the angst of being stuck in a small town. We had the raw excitement of starting something new and just not really caring about anything else aside from the music itself. We’ve really tried to capture the feeling of that energy in the recording.”’

Their rapid ascent reached a new peak after a recent London show, where Richard Oakes of Suede was so impressed by their performance that he invited them to support the legendary band on their upcoming 17-date sold-out UK tour. Setting off at the end of this month, the tour marks a massive milestone for the young trio, who have successfully translated the “raw excitement” of their early rehearsal sessions into a sound that has already captured the attention of industry veterans and fans alike.
