Bar italia has announced their new album, Some Like It Hot, which is set for release on October 17th via Matador. The record is the culmination of the joint artistic vision of the three singer-songwriters: Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi, and Sam Fenton. To mark the announcement, the band has also released a new single and video for “Fundraiser,” a kinetic and exhilarating track that features actor Matt King.
The new album draws parallels to the 1959 film of the same name, pulsing with themes of romance, intrigue, and self-discovery. Sonically, it is a dazzling collection that includes lustful rockers, spellbinding folk pop, and punch-drunk ballads. The record is built from moments that sneak up on you like a burst of 5pm sunshine, proving the band has transcended their underground roots to embrace a bold, widescreen horizon.
Following a recent sold-out show at 93 Feet East in London, bar italia will accompany the album with UK, European, and North American tours. The band’s rising profile is further highlighted by their previous single, “Cowbella,” which was recently added to the BBC 6 Music playlist. A sold-out London album release show at The Dome on October 18th has also been announced.
