Peterborough quartet Airways have a brand new video for their recent single Alien. The track was produced by Nothing But Thieves’ guitarist Dom Craik and deals with the band’s trouble of getting into the USA. Watch and listen below.
The band comment on the inspiration for Alien:
We were due to play in the US and Trump’s tighter border control meant getting a visa wasn’t as easy as before. The trip had to be cancelled at the last minute. We were furious, and it made us think about being la-belled as ‘undesirable’ in a variety of situations!
Alien follows on from their debut EP Starting to Spin which was released last year. This year has already seen the band support The Xcerts on their UK tour. Airways have also completed their first European headline tour with dates in Belgium, Germany.
Singer and main songwriter Jake Daniels comments on the tour:
It’s so weird to see a room full of German or Belgian kids singing all the words to our stuff.
Airways were formed in 2015 and consist of Jake (vocals/guitar) and Alex (guitar) from Peterborough, Jamie (Bass), and Brian (drums).
Alien is available as of now via all digital platforms.
