Following a high-octane start to 2026 with the Calvin Harris collaboration “Release The Pressure,” Kasabian have officially shifted gears toward their ninth studio album, Act III. The Leicester legends have unleashed “Great Pretender,” the second taste of the record following the wavy lead single “Hippie Sunshine.” Set for release on July 17th, the new album arrives as the band prepares for a massive summer, including a highly anticipated headline slot at Finsbury Park where this latest anthem is expected to “blow the lid off.”

Produced by Serge Pizzorno and Mark Ralph, “Great Pretender” is an infectiously euphoric track designed specifically for the festival circuit. Draped in Serge’s signature hazy vocals, the single previews a 10-track collection (plus three interludes) of guitar-driven, psyche-infused pop recorded at The Sergery and Club Ralph. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the new material in action, as the band is set to make a special guest appearance on the debut of Sky One’s Saturday Night Live UK this Saturday, April 4th.

Serge states,

“‘Great Pretender’ is about imposter syndrome not as a weakness, but as a sign you’re on the edge of something real. It’s that feeling right before you step on stage, when the lights go down and it’s now or never.”

With their last seven albums all debuting at #1 on the UK Official Album Chart, the expectations for Act III are sky-high. Packed with the band’s trademark swagger and undeniable hooks, the project aims to cement Kasabian’s status as one of the UK’s most essential acts of the 21st century.
