Blood Wizard have returned with their latest single, ‘Lick The Big Star’, a track that signals a heavier, more emotive direction for the project. Arriving ahead of the new EP, Lucky Life, set for release on April 16th via Sad Club Records, the single follows the success of ‘Daydreaming’, which garnered significant airplay on BBC 6Music and Radio X. To celebrate the release, the band is heading out on a UK headline tour this April, culminating in a highly anticipated show at London’s Moth Club.

Of the single, the band explain,

“Lick the Big Star” sums up the shift in sound we’re bringing with the new EP. We’ve been leaning back into more emotive, heavier music, that we all grew up with and loved. The song is about chasing a fantasy and not stopping to think about what it takes to get there

The upcoming EP marks a significant evolution in the band’s creative process. While earlier material was largely a solo endeavour for frontman Cai Burns, Lucky Life was born out of experimental, collaborative sessions in South London. By trading traditional rehearsals for home-based sampling and vocal manipulation, the band has moved away from the sounds of 2024’s Grinning William toward something more textured and intense.
