London-based trio Ebbb has released their new single, “Eyes,” the second in a series of releases for 2025 on Ninja Tune. The new music follows their critically acclaimed debut EP, All At Once. Alongside the single, the band has announced a run of upcoming live shows, including a sold-out headline gig at the Brixton Windmill on September 25th, and a European tour opening for Shame as well as UK dates supporting The Orchestra (For Now).
The new single finds Ebbb in an entrancing form, with singer Will Rowland’s ethereal vocals drifting over rolling drums and arpeggiated synths. The track has been compared to the work of Panda Bear and Elizabeth Fraser, suggesting a distinct pop sound that is both glistening and complex. Beneath its polished exterior, however, the song is rooted in lyrics that explore hard-earned romantic wisdom.
Of the single, Rowland explains,
‘Eyes’ is about going above and beyond the call of duty in a relationship and becoming someone’s emotional support system, but ultimately confronting the realisation that you are two, incompatible people. The song explores the conflicting internal monologue around this – one moment accepting the fate and necessity to sever ties, and the next, convincing yourself to give things another chance.
“Eyes” follows on the heels of their last single, “Manners,” which was a fusion of driving beats and towering walls of synth. That track explored the contrast between the ideals of love and its more mundane realities, earning Ebbb significant radio play on BBC 6 Music and widespread support from music publications including NME, DIY, and Clash. The release of “Manners” was also accompanied by a moody lyric video and a live performance video that showcased the power of an Ebbb show.
