Nashville experimental duo Total Wife, comprised of Luna Kupper and Ash Richter, are set to release their new album, Come Back Down, on September 19, 2025, via Philadelphia’s Julia’s War Recordings. The announcement is accompanied by the album’s lead single, “Second Spring,” a fuzzed-out track that blends sweet melodies with churning guitars, embodying the hope of new beginnings and change.
Of the song, the band states,
“Ash started the lyrics for this song in early spring of 2020, and worked them out over the next few years before Luna wrote this song, which helped her finish them. “Hard to remember, but flowers will bloom with or without you,” is from the same poem that “Reveal Sky,” was written from (total wife Self-Titled LP, “It’s easy to forget that it’s spring, staring through grey-blue drywall”).
Over the past decade, Total Wife have established themselves as key figures in the East Coast DIY scene, solidifying their presence as scenemakers in Nashville. Come Back Down marks their first full-length album since 2023’s in/out, building upon their diverse discography, which was recently previewed by the 0 EP featuring tracks like “naoisa” and “(dead b).”
The duo plans to tour the East Coast in support of the new record, with specific dates to be announced soon. Fans can also catch Total Wife in October, supporting Los Angeles band Dummy at The Blue Room. For the latest updates and tour information, follow Total Wife on Instagram at @totalwife.
