Tracks of the Week: Wolf Alice, ADORE, dust, Low Girl, and More!

As we wrap up another work week, we’re excited to highlight some outstanding new releases that have caught our attention. Take a look at the IINAG team’s favourites below!

Wolf Alice – White Horses

In the run-up to their fourth record, ‘The Clearing’, Wolf Alice have released the first track – since their debut album – that features lead vocals other than Ellie Rowsell. Already having the heartbreaking fragility of ‘Swallowtail’ to his name, the band’s drummer, Joel Amey, takes joint centre stage for ‘White Horses’. Subtly simmering, ‘White Horses’ cuts deep with narratives of discovering your roots and questions of heritage. Steeped in ’70s rock, the track offers a glimpse of a more psychedelic side to ‘The Clearing’. – Lana Williams

ADORE – Sweet Keith

Adore’s latest single, “Sweet Keith,” is a ferocious yet tender preview of their upcoming debut EP, BITER. The track is a “gnarled bouquet of gratitude and love” for their chosen family, perfectly encapsulating the band’s dual nature. With flurries of abrasive noise and crunching guitars, the song delivers a powerful punch, but it’s underpinned by a disarming honesty that makes it genuinely moving. It’s a compelling example of how the Irish punks can be brutal and unexpectedly heartfelt at the same time. – Katie Macbeth

Dust – Drawbacks

Dust’s new single “Drawbacks” arrives like a sonic tidal wave, a relentless and visceral track that builds with terrifying intensity. It’s a confident evolution of the band’s formative sound, driven forward by Kye Cherry’s relentless, hammering drums and Liam Smith’s frenetic basslines. Gabe Stove’s searing guitar riffs cut through the chaotic surge, while Adam Ridgway’s woozy saxophone provides a siren-like wail that pushes the song to a boiling, unhinged climax. – Ollie Thomas

Low Girl – No Reasons

Low Girl’s new single, “No Reasons,” is a ferocious glimpse into their upcoming debut album, Is It Too Late To Freak Out?. The track is a visceral and cathartic eruption of pent-up feelings, born from a gloomy November evening and the exhaustion of touring. It’s a powerful statement that delves into themes of guilt and desperation, giving voice to emotions that were previously too subdued to articulate. This marks a new, angrier direction for the band, led by Sarah Cosgrove and her bandmates. – Lauren Moreton

Bathing Suits – I Can Be A Freak

Bathing Suits’ new single, “I Can Be a Freak,” is a ferocious, club-ready anthem that lives up to the band’s mantra of being “Always dancey. Always loud. Always sexy.” The track is a chaotic and snarling monster, blending abrasive post-punk guitars with pulsating techno beats. Produced by Benny Howell (DJ Subaru), the song takes Estelle’s “Freak” and reimagines it as a definitive anthem for a new generation, bursting with blistering feedback and a brazen, uninhibited energy. – Isabelle Knowles
