Ren Genevieve Embraces Radical Honesty on New Single ‘Everything I Never Said’

Pop singer/songwriter Ren Genevieve finds romantic closure on her new single Everything I Never Said off her sophomore EP, released January 16th. Through light pop and Coachella-ready beats, Ren exposed the subconscious of a failed relationship. The song hits with the hard truth that the whole of our love affairs is always split in two between what we say and what we don’t say.

Produced by Joshua Monroy (Justin Bieber, Outkast), the song draws inspiration from other narrative-driven songwriters like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé in her Lemonade era. Alongside the lyrics, the sound is triumphant, like a revelation that evolves with every tie of an emotional loose end.

Everything I Never Said could easily land on the top charts in the middle of the 2010s alongside The Chainsmokers and Rihanna. Maybe that is what we’re yearning for now, something simple, dance-worthy, and lyrically relatable. Maybe not. Either way, this song is a great tribute to the end of the nonchalant Cool Girl in relationships and the beginning of being radically upfront.
