On the road to releasing their debut LP ‘The Prize’, the ever-excellent Prima Queen have shared another glimpse into the upcoming project with the release of the new single ‘Oats’. Detailing the messy ups and downs of modern romance, enveloped by a refreshingly upbeat and fun sonic accompaniment.
The duo, made up of Louise Macphail (vocals/guitar) and Kristin McFadden (vocals/guitar), find themselves exploring the boundaries of their sound throughout their new LP, perhaps showcased best by Macphail’s immense guitar solo on Oats.
Speaking on the ideas surrounding the new single, the band explained:
It’s easy to take it personally when you get messed around in love, but most of the time it has nothing to do with you. Usually it comes from people’s unresolved issues from their past, and it’s important to stay strong in your own self worth and not be afraid to walk away! No one should be begging for love, you should be being lavished with it.
Following their support of Everything Everything’s tour last year, and having garnered a reputation from their impressive live performances, the band have their own UK headline tour planned, their biggest tour ever in fact, with the concluding night taking place at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on May 22nd.
Prima Queen’s new album releases April 25th via Submarine Cat Records.
