People Person step into new emotional territory with “Frances,” a single that finds the rising Manchester four-piece embracing a gentler, more stripped-back palette. A departure from their previous releases, the track leans into soft pianos and lightly brushed acoustic guitar, all steered by drummer and producer Nat Coop. Frontman Adam Grealish delivers the song from the perspective of someone reckoning with their own insecurities and the damage they’ve caused—seeking forgiveness while confronting the fallout of self-sabotage.
Grealish explains,
“I was at a time in my life where my self-esteem hit a rock bottom and I was making horrible choices that impacted everyone around me. ‘Frances’ is the most vulnerable song I’ve written. Coming from that experience, I needed to hang up any ego and admit to being the villain.”
The Manchester-based quartet have been steadily earning acclaim within the city’s grassroots scene, following the release of their debut EP Going Back With My Friends in 2024 and a sold-out headline show at Band on the Wall. To mark the arrival of “Frances,” People Person will headline The Castle Hotel in Manchester on 24 November.
