New York Movie is an electro pop duo from Austin, Texas consisting of long time friends Austin Jones and photographer Philip Anderson Edsel. They have just self-released their new single Firecracker which is available to stream below.
Firecracker is no damp squib but a plusating synth-laden homage to the 80s and doomed relationships. Just imagine Peter Gabriel and M83 had a baby. Fans of St. Lucia, Strange Talk and The 1975 will feel right at home.
The track was written, recorded and produced by Jones and Edsel. Being a professional photographer, Edsel has also taken over photography and design duties.
