Mac DeMarco has announced his new album, ‘Guitar,’ set to be released on August 22, 2025, via Mac’s Record Label. Alongside the announcement, he’s unveiled the lead single and video, “Home.”
DeMarco will embark on a UK tour this November, including a London show at Eventim Apollo on November 10, 2025. He’s also revealed extensive 2026 touring plans, with a February/early March run in Asia (including Japan and Hong Kong) and a May tour across the United States. Supporting artists on all new dates will exclusively be fellow artists from Mac’s Record Label: Mock Media, Tex Crick, Daryl Johns, and Vicky Farewell. Tickets for all newly announced shows go on sale this Friday, June 27th, at 12pm Eastern time.
‘Guitar’ was entirely written and recorded in November 2024 at DeMarco’s Los Angeles home. Demonstrating his comprehensive artistic vision, Mac personally handled every aspect of the record’s creation, including mixing the album in Canada and even shooting the music videos and album artwork using tripods. The only external contribution was mastering, handled by David Ives.
Of the single, DeMarco states,
It’s a song I wrote at my home in Los Angeles about what home means to me.
Of the album, he continues,
I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music, and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.
‘Guitar’ follows DeMarco’s recent instrumental album, ‘Five Easy Hot Dogs’ (2023), which was notably recorded across various locations from Los Angeles to New York City, as well as the extensive 199-track project, ‘One Wayne G.’
As previously announced, Mac DeMarco’s entirely sold-out 2025 tour is set to kick off in late August with three sold-out shows at The Greek Theatre in North America. The tour will continue across Europe and the UK, with the UK dates in November including major stops at London’s Eventim Apollo, Birmingham’s O2 Academy, Manchester’s Aviva Studios, and more.
