Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has unveiled “I Wish,” the second single from her highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Gem, arriving on September 25th, 2026. Following the album’s lead track, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon),” the new single is a poignant letter written to Jacklin’s younger self, a creative practice that has become a defining tradition four albums into her celebrated career.

Serving as the emotional anchor and swansong of The Gem, “I Wish” captures a delicate sense of vulnerability, featuring backing harmonies from fellow Australian musicians and siblings Elsie and Maggie Rigby of folk duo The Maes. Reflecting on the track’s themes of looking back on past struggles, Jacklin sings: “I got through, yeah I’ll be fine / Still I wish someone had been there at the time.”

The Gem was co-produced by Jacklin alongside Robert Muinos and recorded entirely in Melbourne. The 10-track record is scheduled for a worldwide release across digital formats, CD, cassette, and vinyl. Collectors can also look forward to several exclusive, limited-edition colour vinyl pressings, including Turquoise, Green Opal, Ruby, and Rose Quartz variants.

To celebrate the album’s arrival, Julia Jacklin will embark on an extensive headline tour across North America, the UK, and Europe, kicking off in October 2026 and running well into 2027. Tickets for all scheduled tour dates are now officially on sale.
