Freya Ridings has returned with renewed fire. After a run of triumphant summer performances, including a sold-out headline at London’s Somerset House, the acclaimed singer-songwriter unveils her latest single, “Wicker Woman,” alongside a striking, cinematic video directed by Benjamin Darville. The track marks the first glimpse of her forthcoming third album, slated for release in 2026.
Co-written by Ridings and produced by Jennifer Decilveo at Beach Tree Sound Studio in Los Angeles, “Wicker Woman” is an anthemic declaration of strength and survival. Channelling her Celtic roots, the song weaves together themes of feminine resilience, rage, and rebirth, all grounded in Ridings’ signature emotional depth and powerhouse vocals. Of the track, Freya explains,
“‘Wicker Woman is a raw feminist breaking point — bone, blood, and roots ripped from the soil, set alight in a fire that cannot be ignored, it’s an unashamed, euphoric celebration of reclaiming primal feminine power, a return to the core of who we are, and an ode to the forgotten women and gods who came before us.’”
With “Wicker Woman,” Ridings opens a new chapter, darker, more defiant, and utterly self-assured. It’s a fierce statement of intent from an artist stepping fully into her power, hinting that her upcoming album could be her most vital work yet.
